A lot has happened over the 40 years we’ve been in business, with some really notable years to look fondly back on.
It all started back in 1983 with our first showroom in Clerkenwell Road EC1, London and our workshop being located a little up the road in Banner Street. We initially started out by specialising in Architectural Ironmongery and Decorative Grilles.
Our original business strategy to set ourselves apart as a high-quality brass fittings businesses with a client focus meant that we went from strength to strength. By 1992 we had built the business up which meant we needed to move, so headed to Perivale.
Having spent the next seven years in Perivale, we had the unfortunate event that we were not able to renew our lease on the property. This necessitated another move, so in 1999 we moved to our current location in Eastcote.
It was at this stage that our business had evolved. We began to phase out the standard ironmongery element of our work to focus our talents to producing bespoke brassware, brass grilles and associated products for our clients.
Another change in 1999 saw our current owner, Gary Talland, take control of the operations side of the business. Over the following years Gary expanded the product range to include products such as linear grilles and Stair Nosing. By developing this broader range of bespoke brass products, Gary had guided Brass Tacks Fittings to new heights.
Now, the vast majority of work is made inhouse in our workshop in Eastcote, and today is being shipped all over the world, to be installed in such buildings as prominent hotels, retail outlets, public buildings and offices. We have even produced bespoke brassware for super yachts.
Our continued success is down to Gary and his team’s dedication to producing the highest quality, bespoke brass products.
We are looking forward to the next 40 years!
